It's 1664 and New Jersey Needs YOU!

In the Fall of 1664, just months after acquiring New Netherlands from the Dutch, the English Governor Richard Nicolls starts an advertising campaign to attract immigrants to New Jersey by promising freedom of religion, local self-government, a tax-free period, and many other generous benefits.

Come and hear Charles Gross, Monmouth County Librarian, explain how this event starts the 'land rush" of individual settlements that in time grow into the towns and villages we know today.

7:30 pm: Doors open for light refreshments,

8:00 pm: presentation (approx. end 9:00pm).

Cost: FREE
