SPECIAL EVENT: NMHA Members' & Friends Cruise on the Tall Ship AJ Meerwald.

New Jersey’s official Tall Ship, the oyster schooner AJ Meerwald, will be in Atlantic Highlands harbor for a short stay, and NMHA has charterd her for an exclusive sunset cruise on Wednesday, August 23rd, departing at 6:30pm for a two hour cruise into Sandy Hook Bay and Raritan Bay.

Only 47 ticketed passengers will be on the cruise so do not delay. Click on 'Register' on the left side of your screen to reserve your placeThe ticket price includess light refreshments.

Passengers are encouraged to assist the crew in raising sail. There may be sea shanties sung by the crew, and you will be encouraged to join in. Sunset is at 7:41pm so it will truly be a sunset sail for all on board. 

In 1928 the Meerwald family of South Dennis commissioned Charles H Stowman & Sons shipyard to build the AJ Meerwald. She is a two-masted gaff rigged oyster dredge, is 115ft overall, has an 85ft beam, and draws 6ft, and a sail rig height of 68ft. Her home port is Bivalve in South Jersey and is well worth a visit- excellent museum and dockside dining on oysters and other choices. More at BayshoreCenter.Org
