YOU ARE INVITED TO A CELEBRATION!

"Guns Blazing! The War of 1812 and the New Jersey Shore"

In fifteen glorious large paintings, the renowned maritime artist Maarten Platje depicts some of the epic single ship vs ship battles between the nascent US Navy and the mighty British Royal Navy.
In addition, there are paintings depicting earlier important milestones in the history of the US Navy.
You will also have the rare opportunity of viewing the lights of New York and nearer locations from the headland on which the lighthouse stands (because normally the grounds are closed at 4:30pm each day!).
There is limited capacity at Twin Lights so PLEASE REGISTER AND PAY BFORE ARRIVING at the party. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
The 100+ page Program Guide is included in the ticket price and provides in-depth narratives of the battles depicted in each painting. There are essays on the importance of maritime paintings in general, the early history of the US Navy, a detailed description of Monmouth County in 1675, eleven years after the County was officially settled, and more.
This major show of maritime art was conceived by Rik van Hemmen of NMHA in collaboration with Cavalier Galleries of New York and Twin Lights Historical Society. In addition, the State of New Jersey graciously permitted the art to be shown at the Twin Lights Historic Site.
