Pete Seeger's passing last week has raised interest in naming the new NMHA/Clearwater Garvey after Pete Seeger. That is certinly a thought to consider, but personally I like the idea of naming it Pete's Banjo.
Pete's Banjo says: "This machine surrounds hate and forces it to surrender". Pete inscribed his Banjo in response to Woodie Guthrie's guitar that said:"This machine kills fascists"
That then leads to an entirely new way to think of naming the boat. We could call it "Banjo", and then make an new "machine" motto for the boat and carve it in the rail.
Such as "This machine surrounds waste and turns it into sustainability".
May the debate start.
